For AKKI, sticking to a singular house genre is a nonexistent concept. Her extraordinary soundscapes encompass a stunning blend of deep, acid, tech, and piano house notes that continuously leave listeners begging for more. ” - GRAY AREA SPOTLIGHT

You rarely forget a DJ set by AKKI. Rooted in Brooklyn's thriving underground scene, AKKI is an Australian-Indian DJ/producer and international transplant who also grew up in Singapore before eventually moving to NYC. She has built a reputation for electrifying dance floors with a potent mix of acid, tech, and 90s rave house infused with culturally inspired grooves. Growing up among a multitude of diverse communities and being exposed to everything from Indian classical singing/dancing to choreographing belly dancing, hip hop and dancing on a latin-caribbean team all through college in the US, AKKI's sweet spot is the intersection of deep house grooves with a global flair. Also as a singer-songwriter from a young age, her productions often feature her own soulful vocals and lyrics. AKKI's mission is simple: to make music that hits hard on the dancefloor while telling stories people truly connect with.

Over the past few years, AKKI has proven herself an accomplished producer - most recently dropping an original release and another remix on Almost Like We Met, part of a compilation championed by Chris Lake and Claude Von Stroke. She has also released an official remix for J Worra on Club Sweat, another official remix for Autograf and released music on Waze and Odyssey's imprint W+O Street Tracks. She has shared lineups with some of the biggest names in dance music, including John Summit, Green Velvet, Walker & Royce, Waze & Odyssey, LP Giobbi, Oliver Heldens, ACRAZE, ALESSO, Galantis and played festivals like Elements, Arc Music Festival and Mysteryland. One of the highlights of the past year includes DJing in Times Square for Femme House's Summer Series. She has also been featured in DJ Mag, EDM Identity, The Daily Beat, Magnetic Magazine and more, as well as run showcases and guestmix series to champion women and underrepresented voices in dance music. As a sober DJ and music producer, AKKI continuously inspires her community to explore the intersection of music, mindfulness, and meaning on and off the dancefloor.
